Summer is coming to an end, the days are getting shorter, and temperatures are slowly dropping.
After the warm summer months, the skin now needs more intensive care again. The light gel textures that were ideal in summer are no longer sufficient for most people. The reason for this is that the skin’s sebaceous glands produce less oil as temperatures fall. Additionally, the air in heated rooms often contains less moisture. Dry, sometimes flaky or itchy skin can be the result. Therefore, you should now switch to care products with a richer consistency. Substances that were not recommended in summer, such as retinol or more highly concentrated fruit acid creams, can now return to the bathroom. Don’t forget to moisturize your hands, and please continue to use a day cream with sun protection factor in autumn.
Hyaluronic Acid
If external care products are not enough, you can treat your skin to an extra portion of moisture from within using so-called skinboosters. In this process, low-viscosity hyaluronic acid is injected into the uppermost layers of the skin using a cannula or very fine needles. This replenishes the skin’s own moisture reservoirs. The skin becomes plumper and more radiant, and fine wrinkles are significantly reduced.
Treatments with Profhilo can also help to restore more glow to skin that has been strained by intense UV radiation during the summer months.
Medical Peels
At the same time, autumn is also the ideal season for chemical peels. This involves gently removing the uppermost layers of the skin using fruit acids in various concentrations or retinol. The skin cells are stimulated to divide more, and the skin appears smoother, pores appear finer, and pigment spots are reduced.
Spider Vein Sclerotherapy
Spider veins can also be treated in the colder season. I advise my patients against this treatment in summer for two reasons: Firstly, intense sun exposure should be avoided after sclerotherapy to prevent the formation of pigment spots, and secondly, compression stockings should be worn for a few days after the treatment to optimize results – nobody wants to do that when it’s really hot outside.
Filler Treatments
While injecting wrinkles with hyaluronic acid filler is possible at any time of the year, intense sun exposure and especially heat should be avoided after this treatment if possible, to keep any swelling that may occur in some patients for a few days to a minimum.
Let me inform you about which treatment is ideal for you during a relaxed and non-binding consultation in my practice.
