Stubborn fat deposits that resist every diet can be reduced with injection lipolysis.

Important Facts

What is Injection Lipolysis – Fat Dissolving Injection

Many people suffer from stubborn fat deposits that cannot be eliminated despite regular exercise and a healthy diet. Since the distribution of fat deposits is genetically determined, one cannot always choose where to lose weight. Such small localized fat accumulations can be permanently eliminated with the so-called fat dissolving injection. The active ingredient phosphatidylcholine, also known as PPC, (a lecithin from soybeans) is injected into the fatty tissue using very fine needles. This medication was originally developed to treat fat embolisms. The substance causes a dissolution of fat cells, and the released fats are transported to the liver and metabolized there.

The fat cells destroyed by the fat dissolving injection do not regenerate in that area.

What is the Fat Dissolving Injection Suitable For

The procedure is suitable for removing small fat deposits. For larger fat deposits, liposuction performed by an experienced specialist in this field remains the method of choice. Classic application areas for injection lipolysis are saddlebags, problem areas on the inner thighs or love handles.

How Does the Fat Dissolving Injection Treatment Work?

Anesthesia is not necessary. The areas to be treated are thoroughly disinfected and appropriately marked. Then, the required amount of PPC is injected into the fatty tissue using very thin needles. The entire treatment takes a maximum of 30 minutes. In the following days, feelings of tension and swelling, as well as minor bruising, pressure sensation or itching in the treated area may occur. These symptoms subside within the first week. It is important to wear loose, clean clothing after the treatment, as compression of the treated tissue should be avoided.

Generally, about 2-4 treatments at intervals of 3-4 weeks are recommended.

A small number of patients (about 5%) do not respond to the treatment, and about 10% can expect only a reduced response. Overall, it can be said that men respond somewhat less well than women, and some body regions respond better than others. For the majority of patients, however, injection lipolysis is a very suitable method to get rid of annoying fat deposits and, especially in combination with dietary changes and regular physical activity, to improve body contour.
